Rio + 20

What Is The “Rio + 20 Summit” (June 20-22, 2012 in Rio de Janeiro)?

“Rio + 20 Summit” is a hyped-up version of United Nations Agenda 21, and its long term goal is the same--- to push the world as fast as possible toward sweeping reorder of:
  • Social, economic, and industrial policies
  • Global distribution of food and water supplies
  • Engagement in enormous international financing exercises and new exercises in “global governance”
The Obama administration fully supports and promotes Rio +20 as a festival of global greenness. The apparent aim is to turn “Rio + 20” (a nostalgic reference to the last environmental summit Rio de Janeiro hosted in 1992; the outcome is United Nations Agenda 21) into a festival of global greenness, to create the widest possible sense of participation around the world…this time enhanced on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.
