“The power under the constitution will always be in the people. It is entrusted for certain defined purposes, and for a certain limited period, to representatives of their own choosing; and whenever it is executed contrary to their interest, or not agreeable to their wishes, their servants can and undoubtedly will, be recalled.”

When the Democrats lose the Washingon Post.......

Even the Washington Post admits that:
For political reasons, it certainly was in the White House’s interests to not portray the attack as a terrorist incident, especially one that took place on the anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks. Instead the administration kept the focus on what was ultimately a red herring — anger in the Arab world over anti-Muslim video posted on You Tube. With key phrases and message discipline, the administration was able to conflate an attack on the U.S. Embassy in Egypt — which apparently was prompted by the video — with the deadly assault in Benghazi.

Quote of the day

It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more. You will think me transported with Enthusiasm but I am not. I am well aware of the Toil and Blood and Treasure, that it will cost Us to maintain this Declaration, and support and defend these States. Yet through all the Gloom I can see the Rays of ravishing Light and Glory. I can see that the End is more than worth all the Means. And that Posterity will tryumph in that Days Transaction, even altho We should rue it, which I trust in God We shall not.

Unions Dumping Money to Oppose Parent Options

Thick as thieves

Geithner under attack for ‘protecting’ Citi
Tim Geithner, the US Treasury secretary, acted to shield Citigroup’s bondholders and management from accountability at the height of the financial crisis while taxpayers were left on the hook, a former US bank regulator has alleged.

Sheila Bair, who served as chairman of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp during the crisis and its aftermath, levelled fresh attacks at Mr Geithner, the Obama administration, fellow financial regulators and bankers such as Vikram Pandit, Citi’s chief executive, in a new book that has laid bare policy disagreements of the past few years.

The ordaining of laws in favor of one part of the nation, to the prejudice and oppression of another, is certainly the most erroneous and mistaken policy. An equal dispensation of protection, rights, privileges, and advantages, is what every part is entitled to, and ought to enjoy.

Media polls skewed

Don't let the polls in the media discourage you -- they're being manipulated to demoralize voters, and keep them from the polls.

UPDATE:  via Guy Benson, Politico Poll: Romney Leads on Almost Every Issue, But...
In other words, September polls are extremely volatile. And this year’s volatility is compounded by the late date of the Democratic National Convention. It was, in fact, the latest party convention in US history. And when the polls are bouncing around a lot, the chances are much greater that they will disagree with one another — which is exactly what we’re seeing right now ... So sit tight, politics fans: There’s plenty more to come.

2012 candidates -- the rest of the story

We have a new page for this election season, a list of candidates for the November elections.  This is not an official list, but was taken off the Walla Walla County Assessor's web site, and confirmed at GOP and Democrat web sites.  Included are all state offices, Federal offices (excluding President/Vice-President),  County wide offices, and Precinct Committee Officers.  This link is also in the side bar.

If you see any mistakes, please e-mail us at w2teaparty@gmail.com; if you want a copy of the spreadsheet that was used for this, please let us know, and a copy will be sent to you.  Or you can download a CSV file from the County (link on the new page).

Tax Initiatives attacked by special interst groups

Court set to hear arguments in two-thirds supermajority case:
The state Supreme Court will hear arguments Tuesday to determine the constitutionality of an initiative that requires a two-thirds supermajority vote of the Legislature to raise taxes.

Voters have approved the initiative three times, most recently in 2010. It was brought to the ballot by conservative activist Tim Eyman, and is being challenged by a broad coalition of opponents — including the League of Education Voters, Washington Education Association and several state legislators.

The education groups sued to overturn the law, arguing that the initiative hampered the Legislature’s ability to raise revenue for schools. King County Superior Court Judge Bruce Heller agreed with the education coalition, ruling earlier this year that the initiative is a “clear restriction on the Legislature’s power.”

A constitution founded on these principles introduces knowledge among the people, and inspires them with a conscious dignity becoming freemen; a general emulation takes place, which causes good humor, sociability, good manners, and good morals to be general. That elevation of sentiment inspired by such a government, makes the common people brave and enterprising. That ambition which is inspired by it makes them sober, industrious, and frugal.

Obama hypocrisy and bias out in the open

Even if they don't admit it, actions do speak louder than words.

Religious groups are blasting President Obama for not condemning am anti-Christian art display set to appear in New York City and one Republican lawmaker said he is “fed up with the administration’s double standard and religious hypocrisy.

“Piss Christ,” once branded as a “deplorable, despicable display of vulgarity,” will be displayed at the Edward Tyler Nahem Gallery in Manhattan on Thursday. The artwork features a “photograph of the crucifix submerged in the artist’s urine.”

The artwork debuted in 1989 and was funded through prize money provided by the National Endowment for the Arts. The art gallery hosting the retrospective salute to Andres Serrano is privately owned.

Religious groups and some lawmakers have already started sounding off – and making comparisons to the controversy over a recent anti-Muslim film. The low budget movie “Innocence of Muslims” sparked violent and deadly clashes across the globe.

More here.

If you wish to contact President Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, or the relevant Washington State Congressional Representatives, see the links and information below.

This continued hypocrisy by the Obama Administration is frustrating, but it's important to stay polite and focused. (Addendum, added later) But......DEMAND that the President denounce this "artwork".

UPDATE:  It's not over.  Not by a long shot.

Islamist rioters set fire to German embassy in Sudan; Update: Rioters breach US embassy in Tunis

Friday news clips

Libyan officials announce four arrests in Benghazi consulate attack :
NBC News reports that the Libyans are convinced that the riot was a deliberate cover to get to the American personnel.
The Hip-Hop President: All Swag, No Cattle:
If only Obama had mustered half as much energy and outrage at the homicidal Islamic plotters in Benghazi as he shows in his tirades against the Tea Party, the Koch brothers, conservative talk radio, Fox News, House GOP budget reformers or GOP presidential rival Mitt Romney and his running mate, Paul Ryan.
QE3 unleashed:
If you’re not familiar with the term quantitative easing, it’s printing money updated for the new millennium so the Fed can play chicken with inflation with the push of a button instead of having to go through the trouble of actually printing the money
Quantitative Easing, Weimar Edition:
"Create dollars out of thin air” is another way of saying, “Print money.” Since the U.S. dollar is no longer backed by gold or any other commodity other than people’s faith in the government, the Federal Reserve can just print up billions of dollars and hand them out. (“Print” in this situation is entirely metaphorical, of course: the government isn’t actually printing paper bills, but rather just arbitrarily increasing the amount of “money” it has.)
Update:

Poll shows voter-ID, traditional-marriage amendments winning in MN
For conservatives in Minnesota focused on two big initiatives on the November ballot, the latest Survey USA poll has some very good news.  For those conservatives focused on the races for Senate and the Presidency … not so much.  Barack Obama’s lead grew to 10 points after the conventions, and Amy Klobuchar is sailing to a landslide win over Kurt Bills in her first re-election fight.
