“The power under the constitution will always be in the people. It is entrusted for certain defined purposes, and for a certain limited period, to representatives of their own choosing; and whenever it is executed contrary to their interest, or not agreeable to their wishes, their servants can and undoubtedly will, be recalled.”

Action Alert : Vote NO on SB 6185

TO ALL LIBERTY GROUPS THROUGHOUT WASHINGTON
ACTION ALERT: REQUEST YOUR IMMEDIATE ACTION

Action Alert Topic: Vote NO on SB 6185
The Senate has passed this bill through the needed hurdles to reach the Senate floor very soon so a state wide effort is needed to voice our opinion.

Membership Action Needed:
The Tri-Cities TEA Party Board and Legislative Committee urgently request that all Tea Party organizations statewide ask there membership to contact their respective state
senators and voice their opposition to SB 6185!

As a citizen of the State of Washington we strongly disagree with SB 6185, and request that our senators vote against passage of this bill! We disagree, private insurance companies that provide maternity coverage should not be required to cover abortion services. In addition to major concerns about the underlying policy, this could put Washington's federal funding for health care and other services in jeopardy. It's also yet another mandate that will drive up the cost of health care coverage. This bill would also require private citizens to carry coverage they would never use because abortion is repugnant to them, depriving the citizens their First Amendment right of freedom of choice and religion!

Description: Bill SB6185 would require private-insurance plans that provide maternity coverage to also cover abortion services. In addition to major concerns about the underlying policy, this could put Washington's federal funding for health care and other services in jeopardy. It's also yet another mandate that will drive up the cost of health care coverage. Despite these serious concerns, the Senate Health and Long-term Care Committee passed the bill on to the Rules Committee and the Rules Committee has passed it out to the Senate Floor for a vote soon.
