As many of you know, Walla Walla lost its first resident in the war in Afghanistan. 1st Lt. Mathew Fazzari, son of Greg and Susan Fazzari, was killed in the line of duty on June 6th. His body will be returned to Walla Walla tomorrow morning. As I understand it, the family will receive Lt. Fazzari's remains at the airport and then proceed to the funeral home via Isaacs and Main Street between 11:15 & 11:30 a.m. Many citizens plan to stand along the route, holding flags, to pay their respects to our fallen warrior. If you are able, please join the citizens of Walla Walla anywhere along the route tomorrow to show our respect and patriotism to the family of Mat Fazzari.Update: A video of his return home.
Here is the list of the other services planned for 1st Lt. Fazzari:
Thursday - Rosary at 7 p.m., Assumption Catholic Church
Friday, Funeral Mass, 11 a.m. at the church, graveside services to follow
at Mountain View Cemetery
Saturday, Community Celebration of Life, 11 a.m., Cordiner Hall
Thank you and spread the word.

It is entrusted for certain defined purposes, and for a certain limited period, to representatives of their own choosing; and whenever it is executed contrary to their interest, or not agreeable to their wishes, their servants can and undoubtedly will, be recalled.”
